Job Description

Nobu Restaurant, the famed Japanese restaurant, is looking for an exceptional and creative individual that is motivated to create memorable experiences through incredible food, drink and hospitality.

OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the daily operations of the bar, including the profitability, monitoring all costs and controls while not compromising guest satisfaction or quality.

Operate the bar to the highest of standards; to comply with Nobu procedures and policies and applicable laws and regulations governing health and safety and the workplace.

Maintain the Nobu standards and ensure excellent service. Must work closely with Nobu chefs and management team in promoting the company culture, mission and philosophy.

Maintain excellent guest relations and develop a loyal clientele, including VIPs and regulars.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of similar experience in fine dining establishment
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Calm under pressure: must have the ability to problem solve, trouble shoot, effectively prioritize work and assignments, and accurately meet deadlines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee Bar Staff, including bartenders, barbacks, and baristas.
  • Interview, hire, train and manage Bar Staff. Coach, counsel and conduct performance reviews.
  • Responsible for creating Bar Staff schedules, and ensuring proper labor costs.
  • Monitor and enforce all health and safety codes within the Bar.
  • Maintain Bar Inventory, including inventory analysis and organization of the storage areas.
  • Monitor the maintenance and repair of all bar equipment.
  • Communicate with vendors on delivery standards, orders and policies.
  • Develop bar drink menu and price setting.
  • Build staff morale while maintaining a positive culture to reduce turnover.
  • Follow and enforce Restaurant cash handling policies and ensure cash security.
  • Follow and enforce proper POS operations and tracking of credit cards sales and reporting.
  • Manage cost controls.
  • Safety management.
  • Travel as necessary to off-site events and locations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, bend, kneel, stoop, climb ladders and push/pull items/doors and stand for long periods of time.
