We only use the latest, high-tech equipment operated by experienced and well-trained operators to meet all your service needs. Action Towing is family owned and operated and has been servicing the residents of the San Francisco Peninsula & Bay Area for over 30 years.

We are currently hiring for San Jose
• Heavy Duty Tow Truck drivers
• Freeway Service Patrol drivers
• Light Duty Tow Truck Drivers

Qualifications:

• Must possess excellent customer service skills
• Heavy Duty Tow Truck drivers must possess a Class A license
• Light Duty Tow Truck Drivers -- no experience necessary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Respond to calls dispatched to you in a safe, timely manner. Provide roadside assistance in a safe, professional manner; free of accidents, injuries and damage.
• Communications with dispatch shall be professional and informative as relates to information necessary to document your status in servicing a call as well as accurate ETA's when requested.
• Professionally and safely perform emergency road service duties as may be dispatched to you, such as, but not necessarily limited to:
• Changing flat tires or airing up tires that are just low on air (T1 & T1A)
• Deliver fuel to those out of gas (T4)
• Perform minor roadside repairs, excluding highways (T5)
• Perform lockout procedures for customers who have locked their keys in their car (T6)
• Perform damage free towing (T8)
• Perform accident towing and scene clean-up (T8A)
• Jumpstart vehicles whose batteries pass the load test and are only discharged and unable to start the vehicle (T3). If assigned AAA battery service test equipment you are expected to test every T3 call for a bad battery and then educate customer regarding AAA battery service program.
• Daily inspects the truck for safety, organization and related equipment, tools, rigging inventory; turns in complete pre-shift inspection prior to beginning duty each day; Immediately reports tools or equipment damaged or missing;
• Safe driving behavior is a must. Obey all traffic laws, drive defensively, always wear your seat belt, remember our 4-second following rule, minimize backing and left turns.
• Trucks are kept clean inside and out; maintains the truck(s) fuel tanks half full at all times; Maintains truck fluid levels according to manufacturer standards and notes quantities added on the pre-shift inspection sheet.
• Maintains the storage yard in a safe, clean and orderly manner. Ensures that all trash must be properly disposed of and not left in the truck or on the ground. Secures the storage yard when leaving.
