Job Summary: The Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production operations. This role involves working with a variety of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to maintain equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery according to established procedures and schedules.
- Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues affecting equipment performance.
- Perform corrective repairs and adjustments to resolve equipment malfunctions and restore functionality.
- Equipment Setup and Calibration:
- Assist in the setup, calibration, and alignment of new or modified equipment and machinery.
- Ensure that equipment is properly adjusted to meet production specifications and quality standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Prepare and submit reports on equipment status, maintenance issues, and completed tasks.
- Assist in the management of spare parts and maintenance supplies, including inventory tracking and ordering as needed.
- Ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with production staff, supervisors, and other maintenance team members to coordinate maintenance activities and address equipment issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members and provide updates on maintenance status and equipment performance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology and techniques.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology is preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as maintenance best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills: - Certification in maintenance or specialized areas (e.g., electrical, hydraulic systems).
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and systems.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and equipment.
- May involve standing for extended periods, working in varying temperatures, and handling heavy materials.
