Job Description

Our client, a leading provider of home infusion services, is seeking a Staff Infusion Pharmacist for their Waynesboro, VA location.

Salary Range: $60-$70 per hour (flexible/based on experience) + benefits + other perks.

Qualifications:

• A valid Pharmacist license in the state of Virginia.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in home infusion or sterile compounding (preferred).
• Comprehensive knowledge of USP <797> and <800> standards.
• Strong understanding of federal and state pharmacy regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care
  • Prepare, verify, and dispense home infusion medications with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and optimize individualized medication plans.
  • Provide patient counseling and education on home infusion therapies, ensuring patients understand their treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
• Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, including USP <797> and <800> standards for sterile compounding.
  • Maintain accurate records, conduct periodic audits, and ensure readiness for inspections.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications.
• Sterile Compounding
  • Supervise and perform sterile compounding processes, including the formulation, preparation, and labeling of infusion medications.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in aseptic technique and sterile preparation standards.
• Collaboration & Professional Networking
  • Work closely with healthcare providers, patients, and suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of care.
  • Represent Vital Care in professional forums to stay updated on industry trends and share insights.
• Team Support
• Assist in training and mentoring pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient pharmacy operations and high-quality patient care.
