Bronx House Summer Day Camp

Bronx House Summer Day Camp is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Camp Counselors to join our team! Counselors travel daily with campers to our campground and provide high-quality supervision, engagement, and support throughout the day.

Program Dates:

• June 29 – August 19 (7½ weeks)
• Schedule
• Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM – 6:00 PM (approx.)

Compensation:

$2,750 stipend

Responsibilities

Camp Counselors are expected to:

• Ensure campers in grades 1–10 are properly supervised and enjoying a safe, positive camp experience.
• Build strong, respectful relationships with campers and fellow staff.
• Actively engage with campers during all activities and encourage full participation.
• Promote teamwork, respect, and a supportive camp community.
• Maintain a safe and structured environment for youth development and learning.
• Participate in and support the swim program (swimming skills preferred but not required).
• Attend all required trainings and staff meetings.
• Use and care for camp equipment appropriately; report maintenance needs to the Unit Leader.
• Supervise and accompany campers on scheduled field trips.
• Communicate effectively with parents to support campers’ experiences and needs.
• Participate in all-camp events, including opening day and closing day activities.
